I didn’t expect it to be wonderful but I didn’t expect it to be that bad. But I need to be realistic.”Pistorius, whose condition stems from a congenital disorder, has been given more time to make the team. However he told reporters his chances to make the 2012 Games are more realistic.And in taekwondo, Mexico’s Guillermo Perez seems a sure bet. You see, Perez has crafted his martial art skills from the tender age of five. Now, the entire nation roots him on.[Guillermo Perez, Mexican Taekwondo Athlete]:”I started (practicing) this sport I think, when I was young, because I used to see films about martial arts and I liked them a lot. In particular I used to see Bruce Lee films. He used to appear throwing kicks and I was a bit hyperactive when I was a child. My mother decided that I should practice and I liked throwing kicks. That’s when my career as a taekwondo athlete began. It’s been a 23-year long career which I have enjoyed a lot and we have accomplished very good results.”With numerous scuffles to his credit, his mother had only hoped to calm his impulsive behavior.
